DiagramDB is a privacy-first database design and visualization toolkit. All data processing happens in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit your SQL queries, diagrams, or any user-generated content to our servers.

Data Storage

Local Storage Only

Your data is stored exclusively in your browser using:

• localStorage: Used for auto-saving SQL formatter input and user preferences
• IndexedDB: Used for storing query history (last 50 queries) locally on your device

You have full control over this data. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings or by using your browser's developer tools. This data never leaves your device.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve the user experience. Ahrefs Analytics collects:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Referrer information (where you came from)
• Browser and device information
• Anonymous visitor identifiers (cookies)

Ahrefs Analytics does NOT collect personal information or track you across websites. You can opt out of analytics by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

What We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect or store:

• Your SQL queries or database schemas
• ER diagrams or visualizations you create
• Personal information (names, emails, addresses)
• Payment information (we don't charge for anything)
• IP addresses or precise location data

Share Links

When you use the "Share" feature, your SQL query or diagram is compressed and encoded in the URL. This data is not sent to our servers—it stays in the URL and is decoded in the recipient's browser. Anyone with the share link can view the content encoded in it.

Third-Party Services

DiagramDB uses the following third-party services:

• Ahrefs Web Analytics: For anonymous usage analytics (as described above)
• Google AdSense: For displaying advertisements (does not access your SQL queries or diagrams)

These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them if you have concerns.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally in your browser, data retention is entirely under your control. You can clear your browser data at any time to remove all stored queries and preferences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of DiagramDB after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
